Living in Flushing, Michigan

Flushing is built along the Flint River, and the river does a lot of work here — a compact, attractive downtown, riverside parkland and trail, and a general sense of a town that has looked after itself. Flushing Community Schools is well regarded and is a consistent reason buyers choose it.

Housing is largely established family neighborhoods, well maintained, with some newer building at the edges. It is a settled market rather than a fast-moving one.

This is the furthest west of the communities covered here. Flint is about 15 minutes away and functions as the practical hub; Lapeer is closer to 45 minutes, so this generally suits buyers whose working life points west.
